Just purchased a 2018 Civic from Copart with hail damage for a really good price to use for a work car,hopefully im a pro at this by the end..I can see now why this cost so much though..I have had the car a couple weeks now and have pulled about 30 dents so far out of around 150 last count when it starts to irritate me and i stop till the next day but it does intrigue me

New to pdr, I have been glue tabbing hail damage with a mini lifter, mainly just trying to pull them good enough to sand and paint for now. I'm to the point of almost cleanly pulling the majority. But on some I can't get the center to pull completely, makes like a super tiny volcano, any tips or tutorials for that?
Would the tab break off if I tried this on the very tip of a very solid hood?
@@whataworld2028 we pull dents there all the time. Glue may give before the dent moves though

Just had some major hail damage repaired by a very good PDR shop in my area. Car looks as good as the day I drove it off the lot. I come from the 'bondo, sand, paint' era of body repair. What you guys can do with PDR techniques just amazes me.
Must be a Foose car owner.

Hey Jim, great video, you are a master. Can you explain why you used a PADDLE and not a HAMMER, what is teh difference betwn teh paddle ad a hammer for PDR? I have seen other videos that use a hammer. Thanks
@@phototec thank you! So I prefer a paddle when using a knockdown, and a hammer for blending. Some people will use the side of their hammer as a paddle sometimes. One of my employees does this, and I’m not sure it makes a huge difference. Whatever you’re comfortable with. If you don’t yet know the difference or understand blending there’s some videos on my channel that’ll explain. Other times I’ll use a hammer as a knockdown…. It sounds much more convoluted and confusing than it is, but it’s really just about the tech and what they’re feeling in the situation.
People in these comments thinking they’re ready to tackle this is funny. I don’t think y’all understand the time, patience and skills required to execute a repair like this
Hey man, I’m done arguing with them lol. Every time I tell someone this isn’t a DIY skill, or this particular job is so far away from DIY it’s ridiculous, I get a lot of attitude from strangers… So I say meh… if they can’t take good advice they can mess up their own cars.

How do you decide when and how much you need to warm the panel before pulling a dent?
Something this small doesn’t really need heat. Also you can’t heat too much with glue or it won’t harden.
